Firstly, in The Placebo effect – experimenting on consumers we show how different types of “social information” (such as star ratings and comments) influences individual buying behaviour and how to measure the effects based on an innovative laboratory experiment we conducted with the University of Oxford. Secondly, in Ready, steady, go – what makes a good outcome? we set out the type of information and evidence regulators should gather to help design a regulatory framework that encourages companies to deliver good outcomes for consumers. Finally, in Unregulated legal services – good or bad?, based on our research for the Legal Services Board, we shed light on how unregulated legal services are supplied, who supplies them and their pros and cons from a consumer and competition perspective.
