Economic Insight has worked with Electricity North West (ENWL) to support with its measurement of SROI for its ED2 Business Plan proposals. This project involved a comprehensive assessment of the social value of 35 of the 47 ED2 deliverables that were proposed in the Business Plan. To develop our modelling approach for this, we undertook a systematic review of the national framework then made the methodological adjustments that were necessary to bring the modelling work we had previously conducted for SECV submissions in line with the framework.
In addition to this, we performed a Quality Assessment for ENWL, which confirmed that only social benefits generated by ENWL’s actions were included in the forecasts. This comprised of a sense check of ENWL’s activity tracking estimates, and a review of the assumptions that they made to ensure that the assumptions were both plausible and realistic.
