Economic Insight has published our response to the government’s proposals for strengthening economic regulation. In particular, we highlight: (i) how a refocus on financeability may be an effective means to deliver the government’s growth agenda; (ii) the case for using a differential regulatory approach for large and complex projects; and (iii) the risks of changing the water sector’s appeals process to an energy-style regime.
