Sam Williams appointed to CMA cost of capital panel
Economic Insight co-founder, Sam Williams, has been appointed to the CMA’s ‘cost of capital expert panel’. The panel’s role is to provide the CMA with specialist technical advice in relation to the estimation of the weighted average cost of capital (WACC). The authority often has to reach a view on the WACC in relation price control redeterminations / appeals; and in relation to certain competition law related matters and merger clearance processes. Economic Insight is delighted by Sam’s appointment to the panel – which reflects Sam’s extensive work in this area throughout his 20 year career, including working on numerous cases before the CMA.
Beesley Lectures
